Microphone protection kits
When a microphone is left outdoors during noise monitoring it needs to be protected from the elements. Norsonic has developed several microphone protection kits that protect the measurement microphone from rain and wind.
- The following Norsonic sound level meters have obtained a class 1 type approval with microphone protection kit: Nor150, Nor145, Nor140, Nor131
- On the Norsonic sound level meters delivered after 2014 the user can activate correction filters for the use of specific models of microphone protection kits
- On the Norsonic sound level meters delivered after 2014 the user can activate correction filters for horizontal or vertical incidence
- On some Norsonic sound level meters the user can activate an electrostatic actuator to perform automatic calibration syscheck with the Nor1216 microphone protection kit.
The different models:
- Nor1216: IP55 protection kit with syscheck for Nor150, Nor145 and Nor140
- Nor1217: IP55 protection kit for Nor150, Nor145 and Nor140
- Nor1218: IP55 protection kit for Nor131
