Acoustical Volume (Density) Meter
The VM-240A Acoustical Volume Meter enables the rapid, accurate and non-invasive measurement of the volume of irregular shapes without the use of liquids and without putting force or pressure upon the object being measured.
The VM-240A measures the volume of an object enclosed within its Measurement Chamber (to within ±0.1 cm3 based on a volume of 100 cm3 being measured under standard environmental conditions – 20°C ,50 % RH). Each measurement can be made in around 2 seconds.
The VM-240A acoustic volume meter can be used to measure the volume/capacity of irregularly shaped objects with sound:
- Non-invasive, dry and rapid method
- Once set up measurement takes only around 2 seconds
- Typical accuracy ±0.1 cm3
Completely independent of the design, e.g. a combustion chamber, the volume/capacity can be measured simply by placing the volumeter on the combustion chamber cavity of the cylinder head.
Instead of the spark plug connector, special adapters are used to connect the volumeter.
In the process of engine production or maintenance, the volume can be measured in just two seconds in this way - and under dry conditions.
